The 22nd International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Business Kicks Off Under the Theme: "Business Intelligence and Global Transformations"
On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the Faculty of Business at Alexandria University held its 22nd International Scientific Conference under the theme: "Business Intelligence and Global Transformations". The event was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University; Professor Dr. Said Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Ayman Sheteiwy, Dean of the Faculty; and Professor Dr. Alaa El-Din El-Gharbawy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The conference welcomed a distinguished group of deans and vice deans from various universities and higher institutes, alongside faculty members, teaching assistants, researchers, and a large number of students.
The conference program spanned five parallel scientific sessions, covering key topics in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Finance, Economics, and Information Systems. A total of 30 peer-reviewed research papers were presented, including five online presentations. The sessions featured 12 faculty members as discussants and attracted 24 attendees.
The event concluded with a set of significant recommendations, most notably: the need to train university faculty members in the use and instruction of business intelligence and artificial intelligence tools, and to integrate them into academic curricula, in order to prepare graduates equipped to meet the demands of both local and international job markets.
At the close of the conference, Professor Dr. Ayman Sheteiwy, Dean of the Faculty, extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the College Council, as well as all academic and administrative departments, for their dedicated efforts in organizing a conference that reflects the prestigious standing of the Faculty of Business at Alexandria University.
Presidential Decree Appointing Dr. Hanan Hosny El-Sherbiny as Dean of the Faculty of Nursing
Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated Dr. Hanan Hosny Abdel-Hai El-Sherbiny on the occasion of the presidential decree appointing her as Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, wishing her success and continued dedication to advancing the Faculty. He also affirmed the University’s full support to ensure her success in carrying out her mission.
It is worth noting that Dr. Hanan El-Sherbiny graduated from the Faculty of Nursing in 1992, obtained her Master’s degree in 2003, and her PhD in 2010 in the field of Community Health Nursing. She has held several academic and administrative positions, most recently serving as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Education and Student Affairs. She has also served as Assistant Dean, Head of the Department of Community Health Nursing, and has made significant contributions to the development of academic programs, international accreditation, and quality assurance.
Dr. El-Sherbiny has supervised and participated in numerous research and development projects and has published more than 30 scientific papers in reputable local and international journals. She has also made notable contributions to community service and environmental development, through active participation in presidential initiatives and community projects. In addition, she has played an important role in supporting student activities, academic exchange, and the enhancement of clinical training for nursing students.
Integrated Scientific and Awareness Activities at Alexandria University to Promote Research and Community Awareness
As part of its pioneering role in supporting scientific research and enhancing community awareness, the Faculty of Sports Sciences for Girls at Alexandria University organized a series of distinguished scientific and awareness activities on Monday, February 16, 2026.
The events were held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of the University; Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Afaf El-Awfi, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Doaa El-Dardiri Abu El-Hassan, Dean of the Faculty, with the participation of the faculty’s vice deans and under the supervision of Associate Professor Wafaa Gaber Mohamed Ibrahim, General Coordinator of Seminars, Workshops, and Activities in the Community Service Sector, and Professor Rasha Abdel Qader, Director of the Faculty’s Anti-Violence Against Women Unit.
The activities commenced with the first session of the Sports Sciences Scientific Salon (Author & Book), organized by the Graduate Studies and Research Sector. The session featured a discussion of the book “Therapeutic Recreation” by Professor Dr. Samia Hassan, and was moderated by Professor Dr. Safwat Gomaa. The session highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of critical reading and deepening academic dialogue among faculty members and researchers.
In a related context, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, in cooperation with the Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods of Physical Education, organized a seminar entitled “Employing Artificial Intelligence in Physical Education Lessons.” The seminar was delivered by Associate Professor Mohamed Wahid Suleiman, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Technology at the Faculty of Specific Education – Alexandria University. The session addressed AI applications in the educational process, key tools supporting performance development in physical education classes, as well as ethical and legal considerations and practical implementation requirements.
Additionally, the Community Service Sector, in collaboration with the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit, organized an awareness seminar entitled “Behavioral Addiction.” The seminar was delivered by Professor Dr. Hend Hassan Abdel Moneim, Professor of Internal Medicine, General Director of the New Alexandria University Hospital, and Director of the Emergency Unit at the Main University Hospital. The lecture discussed types of addiction, their causes and effects, and the role of the state and community institutions in prevention and treatment efforts.
For her part, Dr. Doaa El-Dardiri, Dean of the Faculty, affirmed that organizing these diverse activities in a single day reflects the Faculty’s vision of integrating scientific research with community service. She noted that the scientific salon stimulates intellectual and research activity, while awareness seminars and applied workshops enhance students’ understanding of contemporary issues and empower them to employ modern technologies ethically and responsibly. She added that the Faculty is committed to preparing graduates equipped with scientific knowledge, social awareness, and innovative capabilities, in line with the University’s strategic orientation toward supporting sustainable development.
The activities concluded with an open discussion session with students, in an interactive and enriching atmosphere that strengthened communication between speakers and attendees, reaffirming the Faculty’s commitment to fostering a supportive educational environment that promotes creativity and social responsibility.
The High Institute of Public Health Organizes the “World Health Day 2026” Celebration with Broad Local and International Participation
In celebration of World Health Day, and under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, the High Institute of Public Health organized a large-scale event titled World Health Day 2026 Celebration at the institute’s premises, in the presence of institute leaders, officials, and experts in the health sector.
This event comes as part of Alexandria University’s commitment to supporting global health initiatives and strengthening the role of student activities as a key pillar in raising awareness and connecting students with development issues. It also contributes to preparing qualified cadres capable of serving society and reinforces the university’s position as a leading academic institution in improving quality of life through education and scientific research.
The opening session witnessed the participation of representatives from the World Health Organization, alongside leaders from the Directorate of Health Affairs, medical syndicates, and representatives of both public and private healthcare sectors, in addition to a number of experts and specialists in public health.
The National Initiatives Department at the Directorate of Health Affairs also participated by providing free early detection services for attendees, in support of prevention efforts and the promotion of community health.
The celebration further included the participation of civil society organizations, where joint efforts between the state and these institutions in providing healthcare services to the most vulnerable groups were highlighted. The event was also attended by faculty members, representatives of health entities, and participants from various faculties and institutes of the university, reflecting the importance and diversity of the event.
The program featured an opening session addressing key current health challenges, ways to strengthen health systems, and the role of scientific research in supporting evidence-based health policies, in line with this year’s theme:
"Together for Health, Stand with Science."
The celebration also included a number of scientific sessions discussing the concept of “One Health,” emphasizing the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health, and the importance of integrated efforts across different health sectors.
Faculty of Specific Education Organizes the Second Postgraduate Studies and Research Forum Entitled: "Visions and Trends in the Development of Contemporary Specific Education"
Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Specific Education organized today, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the second Postgraduate Studies and Research Forum under the title: "Visions and Trends in the Development of Contemporary Specific Education", with the participation of a distinguished group of academic leaders, experts, and specialists in various fields of specific education.
The forum’s opening was attended by Dr. Nagda Mady, Dean of the Faculty and President of the Forum; Dr. Salwa Basha, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs and Vice President of the Forum; Dr. Mokhtar Youssef, former Vice President of Alexandria University; Dr. Sherif Abdel Moneim, Forum Coordinator; Dr. Dina El-Gayar, Executive Director of the University Projects Management Unit; Dr. Saad Darwish, former Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at Matrouh University; Dr. Lamiaa El-Shafei, Assistant Coordinator of Social Issues at Alexandria University; Dr. Sara Osama, Communication Officer at the “PILOT” Incubator; Dr. Rihaf Hassan Foula, International Consultant in Management, Education, and Training; and Ms. Mona Qobtan, General Director of Cultural Relations at the University. A number of deans and vice deans of faculties and institutes, along with a large group of researchers and postgraduate students, also attended the forum.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Nagda Mady affirmed that the forum represents a prominent scientific event focused on discussing issues and trends in contemporary specific education. She explained that its organization stems from the faculty’s keenness to promote a culture of scientific research and provide an opportunity for researchers to exchange ideas and visions on the latest trends contributing to the development of specific education in line with the challenges and demands of the modern era. She emphasized that postgraduate studies are not merely a continuation of academic pursuit but a platform for knowledge production and the creation of new intellectual frameworks that support societal development. She also highlighted the importance of providing a stimulating educational environment that brings together faculty, researchers, and administrators to support the path of science and community service. Dr. Mady extended her gratitude to all organizers and participants, considering their contributions a valuable addition to the academic field.
For her part, Dr. Salwa Basha noted that the forum constitutes a unique scientific platform that allows postgraduate students to engage with a distinguished group of professors and experts in the field of specific education. She stressed the importance of promoting academic dialogue on topics such as international publishing, artificial intelligence applications, research projects, sustainable development, scientific missions, and technological advancement. Dr. Basha stated that the forum reflects the faculty’s belief in the necessity of preparing a generation of researchers capable of driving change through innovative research projects aligned with modern trends and rooted in real societal needs. She also expressed her hope that the forum’s sessions would yield practical recommendations to support academic and educational development.
The forum included discussions on a number of specialized scientific themes, most notably: effective scientific research, artificial intelligence applications in research, research quality in light of the Sustainable Development Goals, research projects, intellectual property rights, technological incubators, patents, and international publishing.
A select group of professors and specialists contributed to these discussions, enriching the sessions with their scientific insights and extensive expertise, which greatly benefited the participating researchers and postgraduate students.
