Alexandria University Launches the 9th Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science
Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science launched yesterday the activities of its 9th Annual Scientific Conference, chaired by Prof. Sherine Nossier, Acting Dean of the Faculty and Conference Chair, with the participation of a distinguished group of academics, experts, policymakers, and researchers from Egypt and several Arab countries.
The opening session was attended by senior representatives of the Egyptian Naval Forces and the Egyptian Naval Academy, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, deans of Alexandria University faculties, faculty members, representatives of civil society organizations, media professionals, as well as researchers and students.
In her opening remarks, Prof. Sherine Nossier emphasized that the conference reflects the Faculty's commitment to supporting scientific research and fostering academic dialogue on national, regional, and international issues, contributing to community service and sustainable development efforts. She noted that the conference aims to examine current economic and political developments at both the national and international levels, while presenting evidence-based recommendations to support decision-makers and reinforce Alexandria University's role as a national center of expertise serving society and development.
The conference program featured a specialized experts' session, in addition to several scientific sessions addressing a range of contemporary economic and political issues, including the green economy, digital transformation, industrial legislation, media and foreign policy, environmental geopolitics, the Palestinian cause, and the rise of the far right in Europe.
The first day's activities concluded with honoring the chairs of the scientific sessions, reviewers, and discussants. The conference will continue today, Thursday, with the announcement of its final recommendations.
For the Fifth Consecutive Year: Six Alexandria University Engineering Students Join the Summer Research Training Program at the University of Louisville
As part of the distinguished academic partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville, USA, and under the patronage of Professor Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, six students from the Faculty of Engineering are participating in the Summer Research Training Program at the University of Louisville. The program is conducted within the university's advanced research laboratories across several engineering disciplines. This marks the fifth consecutive year of participation, reaffirming the success of the strategic partnership between the two universities.
This year, the University of Louisville has awarded six research training scholarships to students from Alexandria University's Faculty of Engineering as part of one of its premier undergraduate research programs. The program is designed to strengthen students' research and practical skills while providing them with valuable international academic experience.
The program offers students the opportunity to engage in applied research projects within the university's research laboratories under the supervision of distinguished faculty members and researchers. It aims to enhance their research capabilities, expand their practical experience, expose them to cutting-edge technologies in various engineering fields, and develop their communication and teamwork skills in an international academic environment.
The participating students represent the Computer and Communications Engineering, Communications and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Gas and Petrochemicals Engineering programs.
This year's participation builds upon the long-standing strategic partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville, which has provided outstanding educational, research, and training opportunities for Alexandria University students over the years. The partnership has significantly contributed to supporting students' academic development and preparing them to compete internationally.
The academic partnership between the two universities includes:
First: The Dual Bachelor's Degree Program (2+2)
This program enables students from the Faculty of Engineering to complete the first two years of study at Alexandria University and the final two years at the University of Louisville in the United States. Upon fulfilling all program requirements, students earn Bachelor's degrees in Engineering from both Alexandria University and the University of Louisville.
The program covers a wide range of engineering disciplines and offers students a comprehensive international educational experience that prepares them to compete in both regional and global job markets.
Second: The Joint Master's Program
This program allows students to count two undergraduate courses completed at Alexandria University toward the requirements of a Master's degree at the University of Louisville. Students then complete the remaining Master's coursework within one academic year, enabling them to earn a Master of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Louisville in a shortened timeframe.

Graduation Ceremony for Professional Graduate Programs at the Faculty of Business
Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, attended the graduation ceremony of a new cohort from the Faculty of Business Professional Graduate Programs, held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in the presence of university leaders, faculty members, graduates, and their families.
In his address, Prof. Abdel Hakim reaffirmed the University's commitment to developing professional graduate programs that meet labor market needs and prepare qualified professionals to contribute to national development. He also congratulated the graduates, encouraging them to continue learning and apply their knowledge and expertise in serving their institutions and society.
The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 372 students, with the Faculty of Business highlighting its continuous efforts to modernize its programs in line with Egypt's Vision 2030, focusing on leadership, digital transformation, governance, and practical research.
The event concluded with honoring the graduates and awarding their certificates in a festive atmosphere celebrating their achievements and Alexandria University's commitment to academic excellence and professional education.
Alexandria University Concludes International Network Security Training Program in Collaboration with CY Cergy Paris Université
As part of the academic cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and CY Cergy Paris Université (France), the Faculty of Engineering concluded the International Network Security Training Program, held from 13–22 July 2026 under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University.
The program was delivered by Dr. Mohamed Ali, faculty member at CY Tech – CY Cergy Paris Université, and combined lectures with hands-on training for students from the Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Artificial Intelligence programs.
The initiative reflects the strategic partnership between the two universities and Alexandria University's commitment to providing international training opportunities that enhance students' cybersecurity skills, strengthen their career readiness, and promote academic cooperation with French universities.
Six Alexandria University Engineering Students Join Research Summer School at the University of East London
Under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, six students from the Faculty of Engineering are participating in the ACE Summer School 2026 at the University of East London (UEL), UK, from 20 to 30 July 2026, as part of the academic partnership between the two universities.
The program offers lectures, hands-on workshops, and field visits focused on smart cities, sustainability, and urban development, providing students with valuable international research experience while enhancing their technical, research, and teamwork skills. It also reflects Alexandria University's commitment to expanding global academic opportunities for its students.
