Faculty of Agriculture Theater Team at Alexandria University Wins First Place at “Ebd3 14” Festival
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hamid, Acting President of Alexandria University, congratulated the Faculty of Agriculture Theater Team on winning first place in the “Ebd3 14” Festival in the field of theatrical arts at the level of public and private universities and institutes.
The award was granted for the play “Shortness of Breath”, which had previously won first place in the 14th Annual University Theater Festival for Alexandria University students for the academic year 2024/2025, organized by the Alexandria University Students’ Union (Higher Artistic Committee).
He also extended his congratulations to the students who won individual awards at the festival, namely:
٠ Logain Hazem Hassan for Best Lead Actress Award.
٠ Ahmed Kamal Fahmy for Best Supporting Actor Award.
٠ Mariam Mohamed Ibrahim for Best Costume Design Award.
Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hamid emphasized that this achievement reflects the creative capabilities and outstanding talents of Alexandria University students across various artistic and cultural fields. He noted that the university is keen to support student activities as an essential path for building students’ character, refining their skills, and fostering innovation and creativity.
He also expressed his pride in this accomplishment, affirming that the excellence of Alexandria University students in various competitions and events reflects the significant efforts made to support talents and develop students’ abilities. He concluded by wishing the team continued success and further achievements in the future.
Faculty of Engineering Hosts Seminar on Women’s Economic Empowerment and Personal Budgeting
As part of the Faculty of Engineering’s commitment at Alexandria University to supporting economic empowerment issues and enhancing financial literacy among students and staff, and under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of the University, the Faculty organized an awareness seminar titled:
“Strategies for Women’s Economic Empowerment through Personal Budget Management Skills.
Prof. Wael Mohamed El-Moghlany, Acting Dean of the Faculty, noted that the seminar addressed the importance of personal financial management in strengthening economic independence. It also presented practical skills for effective budgeting and achieving financial stability.
The session was delivered by a representative of the Export Development Bank of Egypt (E-Bank).
The seminar was attended by Dr. Sherwet El-Ghamli, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit; Dr. Eman El-Tahan, Assistant Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Eman Harraz, Training Coordinator of the Women’s Empowerment Committee. The event witnessed notable engagement from participants, reflecting growing interest in enhancing financial awareness and supporting women’s economic capabilities.
Fine Arts Students Win Big at Tiny House 2025 Competition
Third-year students from the Architecture Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, achieved an international accomplishment by securing 15th place worldwide in the Tiny House 2025 International Architecture Competition. Their project was also ranked among the top 20 participating projects in a global competition that featured entries from more than 46 countries around the world.
Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, congratulated the winning students and expressed his pride in this international achievement, emphasizing that their success reflects the excellence and creativity of the university’s students and their ability to compete in major international competitions. He added that the achievement highlights the promising talents of Alexandria University students and their capability to develop innovative and unconventional architectural solutions.
For her part, Dr. Nevine Gharib, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University, stated that this accomplishment reflects the distinguished academic and creative level of the college’s students, as well as their ability to present innovative architectural ideas with humanitarian and developmental dimensions that align with modern global trends in sustainable architecture.
She added that the faculty is committed to supporting its students and encouraging them to participate in international competitions, contributing to the development of their academic and practical skills while strengthening the faculty’s presence in specialized international forums.
The project addresses the concept of “Post-Disaster Architecture” through the design of a flexible and expandable architectural unit aimed at meeting the needs of affected communities and supporting rehabilitation and reconstruction phases. The design also ensures sustainability and the possibility of reusing the unit after emergency periods have ended.
The project reflects a contemporary approach toward humanitarian and sustainable architecture, highlighting the creativity and excellence of the Architecture Department students and their ability to provide innovative architectural solutions with a modern humanitarian vision.
The team included students: Abdelrahman Mamdouh Abdel Aal, Abdullah Ahmed Deif, and Abdullah El Sayed Abdullah.
Launch of the 39th Charity Clothing Exhibition at the Faculty of Medicine Medical Complex in Smouha
As part of Alexandria University’s commitment to supporting its members and strengthening its community role, and under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, activities of the 39th Charity Clothing Exhibition, organized by the Faculty of Medicine at the Smouha Medical Complex, officially commenced in the presence of faculty leaders, staff members, students, and employees.
Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to all those involved in organizing the exhibition, praising their efforts and continuous cooperation in ensuring the success of the event and achieving its objectives. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining such collaboration in the future to further strengthen the faculty’s role in serving its members and the community.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mohamed Sadka highlighted the importance of continuing to organize such exhibitions due to their significant role in supporting male and female students at the Faculty of Medicine and university residences, as well as faculty employees, by providing essential needs at affordable and subsidized prices.
The exhibition featured a wide variety of clothing, shoes, bags, handmade products, household supplies, and food items at subsidized prices aimed at easing living expenses for beneficiaries, with excellent organization and noticeable attendance from students and faculty staff members.
Faculty of Nursing Celebrates International Nurses Day: Investing in Nursing Workforce is an Investment in Community Health
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hamid, Acting President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Nursing organized a celebration on the occasion of International Nurses Day under the theme: “Together to Empower Nursing and Save Lives”, in the presence of a distinguished group of academic, medical, and union leaders.
The celebration comes within the framework of supporting and strengthening the vital role of the nursing profession, and affirming the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to enhance its status, contributing to the preparation of competent cadres capable of keeping pace with modern developments and achieving the highest standards of quality in healthcare delivery.
In her speech, Prof. Dr. Hanan Hosny El-Shorbagy, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, emphasized that nursing represents one of the fundamental pillars of the healthcare system, carrying a noble humanitarian mission based on dedication and giving. She noted the Faculty’s commitment to preparing qualified nursing graduates, both scientifically and practically, who are capable of adapting to modern developments and meeting labor market demands.
Dr. Sahar Mansour Lamada, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that celebrating International Nurses Day reflects society’s appreciation of the pivotal role played by nursing professionals in the healthcare system, stressing that investing in nursing workforce is a direct investment in community health, along with the importance of continuous training and providing a supportive and motivating work environment.
For her part, Dr. Soha Mostafa, Head of the Nurses Syndicate in Alexandria, expressed her appreciation for the efforts of nursing teams and their vital role in delivering healthcare services, noting that their dedication and commitment present an honorable image of the profession and contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services.
The celebration was attended by a number of academic and medical leaders and figures, including Dr. Awatif El-Sharqawy, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Abdel Moneim Fawzy, Head of the Alexandria Doctors Syndicate, in addition to representatives of healthcare institutions, faculty members, heads of academic departments, and nursing directors in hospitals.
The event included scientific sessions and discussions addressing several key topics related to developing nursing practice and enhancing healthcare quality. Dr. Marwa Gaber presented the concept of human-centered care within healthcare settings, while Dr. Iman El-Sayed Taha discussed the importance of balancing technological advancement with preserving the human dimension in healthcare delivery. Dr. Nancy Sabry El-Leithy also addressed the concept of compassionate leadership and its role in supporting the psychological well-being of nursing staff and reducing occupational stress.
The celebration also featured several awareness and human-interest videos reflecting the nature and mission of the nursing profession, in addition to showcasing real-life experiences and stories that highlight the humanitarian impact of the profession.
In conclusion, the Faculty honored academic departments and a number of nursing directors in hospitals in recognition of their continuous efforts and contributions to supporting the healthcare system and improving the quality of nursing services.
