Faculty of Economics and Political Science organizes a training program on leadership skills in public affairs

Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Economics and Political Science organized a training program entitled "Leadership Skills in Public Affairs" in cooperation with the Mahrousa Foundation for Development and Participation, during which a number of students were trained on the positive participation of youth in public affairs, and the identification of the characteristics and requirements of influential leadership in order to prepare youth capable of serving the nation and raising its status.
 
 
 
 
In his opening speech, Dr. Ahmed Wahban stressed the importance of the workshop topic, which focuses on two important values: leadership and positive participation, pointing out the importance of having effective leaders in various sectors of society in light of society's need for distinguished personalities capable of achieving major goals, and stimulating the spirits and capabilities of subordinates despite their different educational levels, psychological characteristics, and class affiliations. He added that positive participation is the best pillar of democratic systems, and it also represents the essential difference between modern societies and traditional societies. At the end of his speech, Dr. Wahban praised the continuous and constructive cooperation between Alexandria University and all prominent community organizations, including the Mahrousa Foundation, the partner of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science in the workshop.
 
 
 
 
 
Dr. Hani Ibrahim, Chairman of the Mahrousa Foundation, delivered a speech in which he thanked the Faculty of Economics and Political Science for hosting this important course in the field of training and development, especially since it is a course that addresses the positive participation of young people in the affairs of the nation.
 
 
 

Presidential Decree Appointing Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rehim as Dean of the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research

Dr. Abdel Aziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rehim Hussein, on the occasion of the issuance of the presidential decree appointing him as Dean of the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, wishing him success and continued efforts to raise the level of the Institute, and stressing the provision of all support and assistance to him for his success in performing his mission.

Within the framework of Alexandria University's celebrations of the fifty-first anniversary of the October victory, and under the auspices of Dr. Abdel Aziz Konswa, President of the University, and the supervision, support and guidance of Dr. Mohamed Anwar Farag, Dean of the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Education organized a cultural awareness celebration yesterday, in which Dr. Youssef El Gamal, former Minister of Education and one of the heroes of the Air Defense Forces in the glorious October War, and Major General Omar Ezz El Din, one of the heroes of the Navy in the War of Attrition, and Major General Elmi Kamel, one of the heroes of the Egyptian Thunderbolt Forces in the glorious October War, and His Eminence Imam Dr. Ibrahim El Gamal, Director General of Alexandria Preaching and Head of the Fatwa Committee, and a number of heroes of the Armed Forces who participated in the great October victory, and the attendance of all the agents and a number of department heads and a number of faculty members and their assistants at the faculty, and a large number of male and female students at the faculty.

The celebration began with the national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Quran, followed by speeches from the attendees who were keen to advise all students on the necessity of arming themselves with knowledge and science and not to be led by misleading rumors. At the end of the celebration, the heroes in attendance from our armed forces were honored, as well as Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah, the media advisor.
 
 
 

Faculty of Dentistry Celebrates the October Victory with a Seminar Titled “Strategic Deception… The Key to Victory”

As part of Alexandria University’s celebrations of the glorious October Victory, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, the Faculty of Dentistry organized an educational seminar in cooperation with the Armed Forces Department of Popular and Military Defense, titled “Strategic Deception… The Key to the October Victory.” The event was held at Professor Dr. Lotfy Abou El-Ala Auditorium at the Faculty.

The seminar opened with a welcoming speech by Dr. Reham Mostafa El-Debany, Acting Dean of the Faculty, who warmly greeted the distinguished guests, notably Brigadier General (Staff) Dr. Ahmed El-Kady, strategic researcher, former advisor at the Armed Forces Center for Economic Studies, and one of the heroes of the October War; Colonel Mohamed Maher, Director of the Military Education Department at Alexandria University; and Lieutenant Colonel Shehab El-Din Magdy, Deputy Director of the Department.

In her address, Dr. El-Debany emphasized that such events serve as a platform to strengthen the values of national belonging among students and to draw inspiration from the lessons of victory, determination, and planning embodied in the heroic battles of October.

During the seminar, Brigadier General (Staff) Dr. Ahmed El-Kady delivered an insightful lecture on the concept of strategic deception as one of the main keys to the October Victory. He explained how the Egyptian leadership succeeded in devising an integrated deception plan that confused the enemy and diverted its attention from the timing and direction of the decisive strike—through a series of innovative strategies that demonstrated the genius of the Egyptian mind and its deep faith in the justice of its cause.

Dr. El-Kady affirmed that strategic deception was the mastermind behind the battle, and that victory was achieved through science, planning, and the steadfast will that characterized the Egyptian army and people during this historic turning point.

For his part, Colonel Mohamed Maher noted that the October War represented an enduring model of how scientific thinking and smart planning served as a “soft power” on the battlefield. He stressed that the strategic deception employed by the Egyptian army was a purely Egyptian innovation in conflict management, proving to the world that intelligence, faith, and awareness can surpass material and technological superiority.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the Faculty of Dentistry honored Brigadier General Dr. Ahmed El-Kady in appreciation of his national and academic contributions, amid a wave of applause and pride from the students, who expressed their deep admiration for the patriotic messages and inspiring lessons on leadership, planning, and perseverance conveyed throughout the event.

The seminar witnessed notable attendance from both academic and military leaders, including Dr. Mohamed Mamdouh Shoukry, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Maha Ramzy Talab, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, as well as a number of faculty members, staff, and a large turnout of enthusiastic students. The audience engaged passionately throughout the session, which reflected a strong sense of patriotism and pride.

Within the framework of the political leadership's directives on the necessity of raising awareness among young people and developing their sense of belonging, and under the patronage of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, President of Alexandria University, the Military Education Department at Alexandria University organized an educational lecture entitled "External Threats and Internal Challenges Facing the Egyptian State", at the Faculty of Business, Alexandria University, in which His Excellency Major General Staff Dr. Ashraf Mazhar, Fellow of the National Defense College at the Military Academy for Higher Strategic Studies, lectured.
 
 
 
 
The seminar was attended by Dr. Ayman Shetwi, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Business, Colonel Mohamed Maher Abdel Aziz, Director of the Military Education Department at Alexandria University, Lieutenant Colonel Shehab El-Din Magdy, Deputy Director of Military Education at Alexandria University and the Military, and the faculty and administrative staff members at the college.
 
 
 
 
 
At the beginning of the symposium, Dr. Ayman Shitwi welcomed the attendees, pointing out the goal of holding these educational symposia, which is to promote national values among young people, combat misconceptions, and define intellectual terrorism and the weak points that may lead to exposure to intellectual confusion and effective steps to confront and prevent them. He also pointed out the social dimension, which is an influential factor in national security. Dr. Shitwi stressed the importance of achieving psychological stability, preserving the stability of the Egyptian family and increasing internal cohesion among them. He concluded his speech with this phrase: “Make Egypt your destination and do not deviate and never abandon it. May God protect the homeland. May God protect our Egypt from what is almost safe for it, and it will remain, God willing. Long live Egypt, long live Egypt, long live Egypt.” The symposium addressed several main topics, including the most prominent challenges facing the country in various fields, whether internal or external, stressing the importance of concerted efforts to confront and overcome them, and stressed the importance of raising awareness of the risks facing the country and the need for students to understand these risks and confront them by all available means, and stressed the importance of the role of youth in protecting the country and its future, as Major General Mazhar stressed the importance of these symposiums in increasing national awareness among students, enhancing the spirit of belonging and loyalty to the country, and qualifying them to be active and responsible citizens capable of serving their community and country.
 
 
 
 
 
 
At the end of the symposium, an open dialogue was held between Major General Mazhar and the students, during which he answered their inquiries and questions about the various issues raised, stressing the importance of the role of youth in building the future of the country, and called on them to show responsibility and awareness, and to contribute effectively to the process of development and progress.
 
 
 
 
 
Colonel Mohamed Maher pointed out that this symposium comes within the framework of Alexandria University's keenness to develop national awareness among its students, and educate them about the issues and challenges facing the country. These seminars are part of the activities organized by the University’s Military Education Department, which aim to prepare students to be good citizens capable of assuming their responsibilities towards the nation and society.
