Faculty of Business Tackles "Corruption in Scientific Research" and Recommends Integrating Academic Integrity into Curricula
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Prof. Dr. Said Allam, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Business organized a seminar on Wednesday, May 21, titled "Corruption in Scientific Research: Practices and Prevention Methods."
The event aligns with the implementation of Egypt’s National Anti-Corruption Strategy and the country's commitment to the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
The seminar was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ayman Shtiwy, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Gharbawy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, in support of the university’s role in achieving the fourth strategic objective of the national strategy — building a society that is aware of the dangers of corruption and capable of confronting it.
Prof. Dr. Mokhtar Youssef, former Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research, delivered the keynote lecture. He highlighted the distinctions between plagiarism, citation, and academic theft as different forms of corruption in research. He emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between universities and oversight bodies to promote transparency, and recommended the inclusion of academic integrity content in university curricula.
The seminar was attended by several prominent academic figures and experts, including:
- Prof. Dr. Omnia Mokhtar, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Faculty of Business
- Prof. Dr. Said Abdelaziz, former Dean of the Faculty and former Governor of Al-Sharqia
- Prof. Dr. El-Sayed El-Seify, former Dean of the Faculty
- Prof. Dr. Mayada Abdelkader, General Coordinator of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy at Alexandria University and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Graduate Studies and Research

Faculty of Education, Alexandria University Holds the Third Forum Titled: “Education Policies Between Renewal and Reform”
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the Department of Educational Administration and Education Policies at the Faculty of Education organized its third forum entitled “Education Policies Between Renewal and Reform” at the Conference and Seminar Hall.
The forum was held with the support and guidance of Prof. Dr. Hassan Saad Abdeen, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khamis Harb, Head of the Department of Educational Administration and Education Policies and President of the Forum.
The event was attended by a distinguished group of academic and educational leaders, including the Dean of the Faculty, the Forum President, the Vice Deans for Graduate Studies and Research, and for Community Service and Environmental Development, in addition to the Director of the Alexandria Directorate of Education, former faculty leaders, a number of faculty members, researchers, and prominent public figures from Alexandria.
The forum commenced with participant registration, followed by the opening speech delivered by the Dean of the Faculty, who welcomed the attendees and expressed his pride in the forum’s continuity for the third consecutive year. He affirmed that the Faculty of Education is fully committed to supporting academic platforms that bring together researchers and decision-makers. He further noted that the selection of the theme “Renewal and Reform” reflects the department’s awareness of the need to review and develop educational policies in line with global transformations, emphasizing that the forum serves as a bridge between academic thought and practical application to ensure a better educational future.
In his address, the Forum President welcomed the panel members, experts, educational leaders, researchers, and participants, highlighting that the third edition of the forum reaffirms the department’s commitment to advancing specialized scientific research and fostering academic dialogue on educational policy issues, as they constitute the cornerstone for educational development and shaping its future direction.
The forum featured several scientific sessions that discussed a range of research papers and strategic perspectives, reflecting the richness of discussion and the diversity of approaches to issues of renewal and reform in educational policies. The event concluded with a set of recommendations, followed by a closing speech by the Forum President, who praised the forum’s success and the distinguished scientific contributions and constructive discussions it witnessed. He extended his appreciation to all researchers, participants, session chairs, and organizing committees. The event concluded with honoring the organizing committee and session chairs.
Presidential Decree Appointing Dr. Ayman Shtewi as Dean of the Faculty of Business
Dr. Abdelaziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated Dr. Ayman Ahmed Shtewi, on the occasion of the issuance of the presidential decree appointing him as Dean of the Faculty of Business, wishing him success and continued efforts to raise the level of the Faculty, and stressing the provision of all support and assistance to him for his success in performing his mission.
"Mascot of Civilizations" Graduation Project for 2024 Class in Painting Department, Faculty of Fine Arts
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, fourth-year students of the Painting Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts implemented a mural entitled "Mascot of Civilizations" on the wall of the main building of the Faculty, as a graduation project for Batch 62, under the supervision of Dr. Mona Ragab, Emerita Professor in the Department of Mural Painting at the faculty.
Faculty of Medicine Launches a Comprehensive Medical Convoy to Serve the Residents of Ezbet Al-Nahda in Al-Amriya

In line with Alexandria University’s commitment to strengthening its community role and serving the most underprivileged areas, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Medicine launched a comprehensive medical convoy to serve the residents of Ezbet Al-Nahda in the Al-Amriya district.
The convoy was organized and supervised by Professor Dr. Afaf El-Oufi, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Professor Dr. Tamer Abdallah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals’ Board; and Professor Dr. Mohamed Sedqa, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development. The initiative was carried out in continuous cooperation with the Egyptian Drug Bank Foundation, which played an effective role in providing the necessary medicines and medical supplies.
Professor Dr. Tamer Abdallah stated that organizing this medical convoy comes within Alexandria University’s vision to enhance integration between medical education and community service, and to provide healthcare services to the largest possible number of citizens in the most needy areas. This reflects the University’s mission of social responsibility and commitment to public service. He added that the convoy witnessed the distinguished participation of 38 male and female students from the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy, in addition to 10 specialized physicians across five different medical specialties, in cooperation with the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Medical Research Institute, and the “Doctor for You” student family, all of whom demonstrated a high level of commitment and professionalism.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Sedqa explained that the convoy provided integrated medical services, as medical examinations were conducted for a total of 725 cases, distributed as follows: 155 orthopedic cases, 155 pediatric cases, 125 internal medicine cases, 180 dermatology cases, and 110 dental cases. He emphasized that medications were provided free of charge to patients, and critical cases were referred to the university hospitals to complete their treatment. He also noted that the convoy’s activities included organizing health awareness campaigns in cooperation with the Community Medicine Department, aiming to raise health awareness and promote medical culture among citizens.
