Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and the supervision of Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and in continuation of the excellent work of the measurement and evaluation system at Alexandria University, the Committee of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at the Ministry of Higher Education visited the Faculty of Physical Education for Women, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, and the Faculty of Physical Education for Men at Alexandria University, to receive the projects of the sixth round of digital transformation in the measurement and evaluation systems of these faculties.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Sameh Nakhla, director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at Alexandria University, indicated that during the visit the committee praised the development achieved by these faculties through digital transformation in their measurement and evaluation systems, and the establishment of nearly 50 question banks for courses within these faculties. The committee also praised the remarkable development in the governance of practical and oral exams, and the strong start of the electronic tests in these faculties, through the full support of the Deans for the measurement and evaluation units for the success of the digital transformation project, and the efforts of the directors and members of the measurement and evaluation units in these faculties. He wished the measurement and evaluation units in all faculties of the university further success and progress.

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Sixth International Conference of the Faculty of Agriculture was held under the title “The Future of Livestock and Food Security,” organized by the Department of Animal and Fish Production at the Faculty of Agriculture in cooperation with the Egyptian Society for Animal Production. The conference lasted for three days, in the presence of specialists from Egyptian universities and research institutes, as well as various Arab and foreign universities, former vice presidents of the university, deans and vice deans of agricultural faculties from Egyptian universities, and public figures from the Fisheries Resources Authority and the Food Safety Authority.

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Mohmed Bahey El-Din Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, indicated that the conference activities included discussing many important issues, most notably food security. He explained that the sessions discussed several topics related to sustainable development goals in light of climate change and water scarcity, reformulating the livestock strategy and correcting its path to provide animal resources, as well as the reality and future of the poultry and fisheries industry, the focus of modern technologies, linking and intersecting sciences, and their role in improving the performance of farm animals and their production efficiency.

 

 

 

Dr. Heba Sabry Salama, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, indicated that more than 300 professors from universities, institutes, research centres and those interested in livestock participated in the conference. The activities included a workshop on industrial applications of nanotechnology and microbiology for the sustainable development of livestock in light of climate change. The conference also included online scientific sessions in which professors from Spain, China, Japan, Mexico, and Turkey and a group of university and research centre professors participated. Sessions were also conducted on fish farming and the use of magnetic water technology on the performance of farm animals.

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Educational Innovations and Distance Learning Unit at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels is organizing the “In Love with Alexandria” event, from the 9th until the 12th of March 2023, at the Horreya Creativity Center
.
Dr. Abeer Attia, Dean of the Faculty, indicated that this event aims to promote the city of Alexandria in tourism through the works of participants in various competitions in the fields of photography, drawing, artistic handicrafts, souvenirs, poetry, short stories and documentaries, with the participation of a group of professors and specialists in these fields, who helped in refining students' artistic skills, in order to achieve the goal of the activity, which is to discover their creative side and benefit them in these areas.

Dr. Dina Weheba, Executive Director of the Educational Innovations and Distance Learning Unit at the faculty, indicated that the goal of this event is not just to win, but to introduce Alexandria University students to the skills they possess that can contribute to creating a more beautiful and creative world, and to promote the city of Alexandria touristically, through students’ creative expression by launching their various talents, she extends her sincere thanks to Dr. Mahmoud Seif, who highlighted the visual identity of the event with his distinctive designs. Within the framework of the Egyptian state’s interest in health and sports, and under the auspices of Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and to complement the celebration held on the occasion of the International Day of Francophonie, Dr. Mohamed Bilal, Dean of the Faculty of Education in Abu Qir, and the Vice Deans of the Faculty, received on Sunday, March 20, 2022, Dr. Patrick Zono, Head of the Department of Public Health at Senghor University and his accompanying delegation and a number of Senghor University students, to spend a scientific, sports and entertainment day at the Faculty of Physical Education Abu Qir.
