Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, attended the graduation ceremony of the 78th class of the Faculty of Dentistry yesterday evening. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed Moataz Khamis, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Reham El-Dibany, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Maha Taalab, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Mohamed Mamdouh Shokry, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Mohamed El-Sayes, Acting Head of the Alexandria Dental Syndicate; in addition to faculty members and graduates' families. The event was held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center.

In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim expressed his delight at joining the celebration, noting that he stood before the graduates not only as the University's Acting President, but also as one of the Faculty's alumni, describing it as "the first home" that shaped both his academic and professional journey.

Addressing the graduates, he stressed that graduation marks the beginning of a new stage of responsibility, emphasizing that their true mission starts today with the responsibility of safeguarding patients' health. He added that dentistry is a profession that combines scientific knowledge, technical excellence, and compassion.

Dr. Abdel Hakim also announced that, following three and a half years of dedicated efforts, the Faculty had successfully obtained Recognition and Integration for its Master's and Clinical Postgraduate Degrees from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, granting graduates of these programs international accreditation. He further noted that the Faculty has maintained its position as the highest-ranked Faculty of Dentistry in the Arab region and Africa according to three international rankings through 2025.

He added that the University continues to implement plans to expand postgraduate education and advanced training opportunities for graduates, equipping them with the skills needed to compete both locally and internationally, while reaffirming the University's continued support for its alumni throughout their professional careers.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Moataz Khamis, Dean of the Faculty, praised the University's continuous support in advancing the educational and research process. He also commended the dedication of faculty members and expressed appreciation to parents for their unwavering support throughout their children's academic journey.

He highlighted the Faculty's ongoing expansion in postgraduate programs and international partnerships, as well as the introduction of cutting-edge specialized programs, including Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry, Lasers in Dentistry, and Regenerative Dentistry, all designed to enhance graduates' competitiveness in the global job market.

Dr. Mohamed Mamdouh Shokry, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, emphasized that dentistry is not merely about treating diseases but also about restoring patients' confidence and smiles. He stressed that knowledge, ethics, and professional commitment are the cornerstones of every successful dentist, encouraging graduates to pursue lifelong learning and continuous professional development.

The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 723 students, including 302 Egyptian students from the Regular Program, 187 international students from the Regular Program, and 234 students from the International Program.
